Had a very long and mostly stressful day at work due to some circumstances involving an ex-employee I cant really discuss. Got home, spoke to one of my neighbors, apparently another neighbors car got stolen over night. Then I spoke to some local PD whom informed me there’s a string of local thefts of people stealing Jeep accessories (light bars, spares, etc) and I cant put my Jeep in the garage because Fiat and Ferrari... Then I decide to check my security cameras to see if the caught anything for my neighbor, only to find out the cameras are malfunctioning. Grab the ladder to look at / reset the camera on the driveway, ladder slips out, I fall on the ladder and my laptop (which I needed to reset the camera). Messed up my leg pretty good (cuts and bruises), the laptop is okay, luckily, other than some cosmetic crap. And to top it all off, once I reset the camera, it came up with a fatal error. Hooray!!!
At least I got my new car cover in today...

Sorry to hear about all of that. Were the cameras sabotaged do you think?

I am so sad for you. I had to street park my 15 year old Miata for three years because helping troubled kids that want to spit and pee on you for a living pays only slightly more than minimum wage. I know your pain.

Hoping you recover swiftly and feel better. And, that the shits get caught soon. Not knowing the layout of your backyard and if it’s fenced off or not, but would it be possible to park the Jeep back there or in the side yard? A la corral style? If they do manage/attempt to steal anything overnight, they’d have to hop over fences or so at least. (We began parking our cars behind the gate after people stole catalytics off various trucks, and the one on my dads truck, in my quiet suburban neighborhood).

Dang man. Hope tomorrow is a better day. Keep a shotgun by the door in case you hear people trying to steal your stuff

You could use a drink or two, goodness.

Yep, that sounds like a pretty shitty 24 hrs. Glad to hear your fall off a ladder wasn’t as serious as it could have been.
Get this day behind you and remember there is always tomorrow.
As for the theft situation, well, not much you can do about it. Presumably your Fiat is either a) too small to create enough space for the Jeep, or b) almost as rare/valuable as your (?) 458. Leave the Jeep outside and let the chips fall where they may.

Jeezums, sorry man. Ladders are evil. That’s a nice cover at least. Here’s hoping it does not randomly burst into flames (EDIT: NOT making a Ferrari joke).
I got my laptop stolen from my car on the top level of a parking garage, where there were no cameras, containing my last hot Brazilian ex GF’s legendary cheesecake pics. Then a couple nights ago friend read a text of mine from another friends phone revealing that... I dunno maybe I’d like to bang his sister. I didn’t get invited over that night. Probably no time soon.
Might you still feel bad after letting the prancing horse gallop a bit?

There’s something wonderful about a car cover that accentuates the tail lights.

At least you can repair yourself. Luckily the laptop didn’t buy it and your cameras may still act as a deterrent. For the record your Ferrari looks sexy AF under cover ;)

Sounds like a rough day, at least you’re okay though. Ladder falls can be quite serious.
As for the theft, I can't park my Yukon anywhere secluded because it's still one of the most stolen vehicles in North America. I would gladly take some stolen light bars and accessories over losing the whole truck.

I agree, I would rather have the accessories gone than the whole thing, but if it were up to me, I wouldn’t have to worry about any of it.

Besides security cameras, what can you do to mitigate the risk of theft? A suppose a Jeep cover would be too much work for everyday use... and you can’t leave a dog tied up out front (they’ll probably steal the dog with your Jeep accessories). Are there any accessories you can un-mount easily (e.g. light bar) and only put on when you plan on going out?
Get the cameras working or replaced and then let be what will be. You can’t control the actions of others, and life’s too short to lose sleep over stuff.

It’s rather unfortunate that we actually have to worry about whether or not our cars will still be there when we get back. But, I guess not everyone can do good in this world, someone has to do the dirty work.

Not really much you can do to stop determined thieves beyond making sure your cameras and motion lights are up to spec, and they know they’re being watched. It’s really sad that people feel the need to take things that aren’t their’s. If they invested the time and effort put do into stealing stuff to better themselves and get a damn job, they could afford to buy their own stuff.
Or you could get a turret. Make sure the cameras are up to spec then, the royalties from viral security cam footage the first time you “catch” a thief would pay for the install cost. Probably not your lawyer’s fees though.

No I mount and hard wire everything in good.
